    FULL DISCLOSURE:
While I would think this is cool anyway, I do work for Fox & Obel.

Journalist turned cattle rancher Bill Kurtis will be at Fox & Obel (401 E. Illinois Street, Chicago) Thursday, 2/7 at 6PM to talk about Tallgrass Beef and his new book "The Prairie Table Cookbook" featuring Tallgrass Beef recipes from Charlie Trotter, Rick Bayless and others.

Presentation attendees will receive an autographed copy of the book (retail $30) and an exclusive Tallgrass Beef giftbag with their $35 registration fee. Following the presentation, Bill will stay by to sign additional autographs for those unable to attend.

For more information, or to register, visit www.fox-obel.com or call 312.410.7301.

Burrito Beach "Mexican Grill" just put up huge signs indicating that in addition to their Chicken Teriyaki Maki Burrito, they now serve barbacoa burritos made with Tallgrass beef. I'm guessing Mr. Kurtis will stick with the Trotter and Bayless recipes, but who knows?

I just checked with the chef and it looks like he will be preparing several recipes from the cookbook, including a traditional (i.e. -- no name chef!) Barbecue Meatloaf and a Beef Bourguignon from Chef Colin Crowley, from Terlato Wines -- so no Trotter recipes at all, actually!

I saw that on their website they other day when I was getting ready to order lunch from there. I actually tried that burrito for that reason and it's pretty good.
