I, for one, have no idea where the Lifeline Theater is located. Pre or post theater meal?

The more information given in a post asking for suggestions the greater likelihood of a helpful response.

Lifetime is not far from me at all (located at 6912 Glenwood - Rogers Park). Some restaurants in the area that I've been to & recommend include:

    Uncommon Ground (new)
1401 W. Devon (right at the intersection of Devon & Glenwood)
I havent been to the Lakeview location, but this restaurant is great for either pre or post dinner. they offer quite a bit of variety and the dishes I've had were done well. The service is very attentive and friendly.

    Heartland Cafe
    7000 N. Glenwood
I have mixed reviews of this place because on some occassions I went, service was great, yet other times, service missed the mark. As for food, my favorite time to go would be during breakfast or brunch - not exactly what you're looking for, but worth a mention.

    Thai Rice Cafe
    6744 N. Sheridan
This restaurant is sandwiched between Starbucks and a movie theatre. It's a husband and wife team that puts out great tasting thai dishes. Very personable and not bad Thai food.

    Some other "chains" near by:

    Giordano's
    6836 N. Sheridan

    Leona's
    6935 N. Sheridan

I know there are more along Clark and some others I'm missing, but hopefully this will give you a nice start...

Everyone I know makes the same "Heartbland" joke about Heartland Café. They have a nice bar and a nice vibe if you have a tolerance for peace-loving hippies, but the menu isn't very exciting at all. It's not abhorrent, but it's rarely inspiring.

Assuming that you aren't looking for something specifically within walking distance, I'll boost my own neighborhood and suggest two places at the intersection of Jarvis and Greenview, which is being branded "Jarvis Square" even though there's no square to be seen.

I've had Indian food from Luzzat twice since I posted on the current LTH thread and continue to be pleased that it's within walking distance. I had a lamb dish on Saturday whose name eludes me but I was impressed by the tender preparation of the lamb meat itself. (They have about 10 lamb dishes on the menu--more than any other meat--which is a little unusual.)

I have also really come around on Gruppo di Amici after a very uninspired first visit. Coincidentally or not I ordered pizza on that trip and have stuck to other entrees since, including pretty good mussels and ... can't remember what else.
There are also lots of good places on North Clark Street in that general area, as explored during North-Clark-a-Thons I and II.

    Luzzat
    1505 W Jarvis Ave
    Chicago, IL 60626

    Gruppo di Amici
    1508 W Jarvis Ave
    Chicago, IL 60626

There was another thread that addressed a similar question. Check this out, but know that some of the information is no longer accurate (e.g., Speakeasy is now Uncommon Ground, Cafe Suron may be closed.)

As a Rogers Park resident and occasional Lifeline attendee, I agree with the suggestions already put forth. I would also add Morseland Supper Club to the mix.

    Morseland
    1218 W Morse Ave

I hope Uncommon Ground is able to make it in that location. It hasn't been very crowded either time I've been in (as Sat. afternoon lunch and a Thurs evening) The first time I went in, I thought it was a coffee shop (because of the name.) I was looking for a latte to go. Then I realized it was a full service restaurant.
