Sushi rarely equates to cheap if you want really high quality fish. It's one of the places I refuse to skimp on price- all it takes is one bad piece of fish.

When we lived in Wicker Park we ordered from Bob San quite a bit and always liked it. It's not inexpensive, but not as much as Mirai.

    Blu Coral
1265 N Milwaukee Ave | At N Ashland Ave is great for take out.

The fish is fresh, the rolls large and interesting. And the ambiance is best not endured, sort of cheesy and too big...but great for take out.

Call me crazy, but while Mirai is one of our favorites, and I've eaten at Bob-San and Coast a few times, I really like HaChi's kitchen on California in Logan Square for take out sushi. They do a solid job on most of thier rolls and sashimi IMHO and deliver.

FYI: hachi's is owned by the same people that own Sai Cafe, therefore this place has a very similar menu to Sai Cafe, which has been tweaked & created over the past 20 years.

basically, there is a good track record & it is no wonder Hachi's does a great job.

i used to pick up from Coast, but now that Hachi's is in Logan Square, it is much more conveinent & they do a great job. now if only i can make it to payday & afford a little sushi treat for myself.

and, ever since the Coast expansion, i've noticed some attitude picking up over there, so for me, it is a no brainer.

hachi's = much closer & less attitude, thank you very much!
