Pizza In Queens?

I'm bouncing back and forth between Boston and New York this winter, hitting the Big Apple at least three times in January and February alone. For one of the trips, I will probably be in Queens around lunchtime for at least one, if not two days. I know all about the great pizza places in Brooklyn, having been to Di Fara and Grimaldi's, and drooling over the prospect of Totonno's, but I know nothing about pizza places in Queens. Does anyone know of any that really stand out? Thanks!

Whenever I'm visiting friends in Astoria a slice(or two) at Rizzo's is a must. And their "Sicilian" is unusually good, both for it's relative "lightness" and crispy crust.

fyi: last time I stopped in we went to pay as we placed our order and were waved off by the counterguy, "pay later." We totally could have dined n ditched(as if)...I kinda dig their laissez-faire honor system.

The Borough of Queens stretches across a large area as you no doubt are aware and weekday traffic can be very heavy. That said, two perennial favorites are Nick's in Forest Hills and Rosa's in Maspeth. Nick's is best known for superb charred thin crust pies with quality toppings. A classic. (Do not overdo toppings however or things can get soupy.) Place is clean and attractive with efficient table service. By contrast, Rosa's is best known for their superb Sicilians (both standard and thinner 'Grandma' style) as well as Sfingiones ('svin-jones' - onion pies). Others rave about eggplant, white pies etc. Place is simple and comfortable in a diner-like way. (The Rosa's location in Ridgewood is every bit as good but less comfortable and a bit forlorn.) You will not go wrong with either of these options. Each is terrific in its own distinct way.
