Post #1 - February 12th, 2008, 11:21 amMy boyfriend laughed at me when we went to see Isaac Hayes in concert because I was writing down the lyrics so I can make these at home. Unfortunately, there are some vaguaries, like "toss in some sugar and a bag of salt" and the like. Has anyone tried these?

Post #2 - February 12th, 2008, 11:32 amI looked up the lyrics a while ago because I had a similar idea and I concluded that the lyrics were not really a workable recipe, just a funny silly song. I ended up doing a rum ball which I dipped in melted chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. They turned out pretty well. I was moe interested in the reaction to the joke than to the balls.

Post #7 - February 29th, 2008, 7:37 pmHayes sang this song as the voice of Chef on "South Park." It's on the Chef Aid album.
You can hear the song and see the lyrics here. The lyrics don't actually mention salt as an ingredient.
A check at Amazon confirms there's a recipe in Hayes' first cookbook, if you want his precise version, but this recipe sounds like it fits fairly closely.
