Stopped at famous K's & Hot Dougs a couple weeks ago. I'll skip the reviews and desciptions as both have been done. Some pics though are useful I think:

    K's, it's SMALL, that's a 10mm lens in action:

Dumpling soup, don't get the large unless it's for 2-3 people:

Yes. I don't know why Flickr adds the ?v=0 but it's caused the same problem for me as well. Go into the line and delete everything between the g of .jpg and the [/img]

Can't wait to see the pics, tho!

Thanks! Nice catch. I have never had that problem before. You'd think someone who does web design fairly regularly would have caught that!

Great shots, I love the bokeh on the dumpling soup and especially the cheese fries.

Glad to do it. If I actually lived in Chicago I'd make it a habit to post pics of everyplace I went. It's invaluable to me to see a place. In fact, that would make a nice sticky thread: Photos of places. Just a shot or two of the exterior and interior of all the places would be nice I think.

Abouna - I've started using flickr to try and check out places before I go! You can sometimes see pictures of dishes and also of what the place looks like from the outside.

I run a modest group on flickr for chicago food pictures. check us out!

Excellent Photos!! However as I have never ordered a dog at Hot Dougs, I am curious as to what that red substance is on the Bun on the "Loaded Chicago Dog". I am confident that it must be a splash from the Catsup/Ketchup squirted on the fries.

Thanks much. My wife was non-plussed. Women (at least non-geeky women) don't appreciate full slr gear with off-camera strobes, diffusers, etc.

Asking her to wait to take a bite was like pulling teeth.

If I would have had my way I'd have taken my whole lighting kit with me!
