Remember to be careful when buying grapes, or any produce that provides hiding places for little critters.

Northern widow spider found in grapes from Marketplace on Oakton last week:

    Thanks for the link!

Glad to hear this spider's bite isn't so serious... just nausea and convulsions...

"...this spider's bite isn't so serious... just nausea and convulsions..." Hmm, ernst, aber nicht hoffnungslos, I guess. But still preferable to imbibing a little tetrodotoxin with your Fugu sashimi, I'd say. On further consideration, I'm taking my grapes the old fashioned way: nunc est bibendum.

Nah, a half a semester of neurophysio as an undergrad (had to drop the course to focus more attention on German 100) was all the prep I needed to be inducted into the sodium-ion-channel-blocker dilettantes club. Besides, I only watch the CSI with Billy Peterson. The Gary Sinise one makes me long for a draft of hemlock.

    Don Giuseppe ( giusto?),

    Sie stammen vielleicht aus Berlin?

"Don Giuseppe" has a beautiful ring, and any self-respecting Napolitano royalist would be flattered, but back in day I was "Peppiniello." My father was "Peppino" and my skinny cousin Joe was "Pepposicca." There is not enough room here to list all the variations on "Antonio" in my family.

Though I was fleetingly in Berlin once, the closest claim I can make to germanic heritage is my maternal Schwytzert
