Well, believe it or not, the greasy take out joing, Five Faces, which is on Division between State and Dearborn, has an excellent falafel for just over $2! I absolutely love falafels and have had authentic falafels in the heart of Jerusalem....so believe me when i tell you that this falafel is that good. maybe not 100% authentic (use that white sauce that greeks use instead of tahini) but still very good.

one problem w/getting a falafel in america is that hte health codes forbid restaurants from making it a buffet style where you can keep walking up and adding more items (like hummos, more tahini, eggplant, tomatoes, etc etc etc) to your half eaten falafel.

anyway, stop through Five Faces some time and check it out.

Well, yes, salad bars let you go back ... but you're supposed to take a fresh plate each time. Not that this rule is universally observed, but I hear if caught the penalty is ... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

You could go back, take a new plate and then.....wait for it...add the stuff to your sandwich when you get back to the table. Work with me, people.

Please, someone throw him a frickin' bone.

I don't know why you wouldn't just take a bunch of hummus, etc, with you on your first plate.

Had falafel at Noor while I was there:

yeah Jim has it right. in other countries you can walk up to the 'bar' with your half-eaten falafel and dump stuff on it. you can't do that here.
