Since GNR Winner Semiramis is among the restaurants up for renewal in this round of GNR Awards and since, thanks to Check Please, we now have all learned how to properly pronounce the name of the restaurant, I'd like to invite one and all to join me for lunch at Semiramis on Tuesday 3/4/08 at 12:30 P.M.
Let's see how well they have survived the Check Please onslaught and if (as I suspect) they remain a good candidate for a GNR.

I hope we get a decent turn out for this event so we can order a good variety from the menu. The more the merrier. Please P.M. me or respond on this thread if you plan on coming. I'd like to give Joseph a heads up on how many are coming so he can hold a table for us.

I'd like to give this place a try! If it's OK, could you please just pencil me in for 3/4?

I'll confirm one way or the other next week.... Thanks.

The Semiramis lunch is coming up soon. So far, we have the following people attending:

    Stevez
    ChgoMike
    nr706
    tarte tatin
    geli
    justjoan
    Cookie Monster
    Giovanna
    G Wiv

10 is a nice number of people for good conversation and a nice variety of dishes, I'm not sure the restaurant can put on their best face with a larger party than that. For now, I'm capping the attendance list. If you would like to attend this event, please post and I'll start a waiting list.

I'd have to leave around 1:45 myself, but I'd love to be included, too.

Every one who has posted up to this point is on the list. That brings up to 10 people. I'm afraid that coming to Semiramis with a larger party than that might start to compromise the food and/or service. If anyone else wants to come, please post here and I'll start a waiting list.

I just spoke to Joseph and we are all set for a party of 10 tomorrow at 12:30 P.M. I told him we would probably order a chicken or two and then some other dishes once we get there. I have also put in a request for an order of kibbe nayah (someone asked for this in a PM). Joseph said that he will have this for us if he can get the ingredients and has enough prep time, but he would do his best to accommodate the request. See you there!

Regretfully, I now cannot attend tomorrow's feast. I hope someone else can take my spot at the table.

    Have fun, all.

It appears this event was attended by mostly women. How nice!
