The new Spertus Institute is now open for business, with a kosher cafe on the second floor catered by W. Puck. We didn't get a chance to try much on opening day, but I suspect it will be similar to the MCA enterprise, with primarily sandwiches, salads, and the like. It's currently open only during the day, but it's in the front of the building with a good view of Grant Park, and would seem to be an excellent casual, light-filled spot to lounge, in an area that could use a few more of those. Not much about the cafe currently on the Spertus site, but here's a little:

If you do stop by, be sure to go up to the 10th floor museum, and if the terrace is open go outside for a truly spectacular view of Chicago's front parlor, unimpeded from Soldier's Field to Navy Pier. A great addition to Michigan Avenue and sure to be a huge new venue for events.

I'm not crazy about the facade and variance they gave from the streetwall preservation code, but I love anything by W. Puck, so let's eat!!!
