Celebrate National Corn Dog Day & Taste the illusive Luther Burger, too!

There is only one place in the Chicago area one can indulge in both: Wiener and Still Champion!

We will meet Saturday March 22nd at high noon at:

    Wiener and Still Champion
    802 Dempster
    Evanston, IL 60202
    847-869-0100

Please note Gus, who really does dip his dogs fresh, is featured in the National Corn Dog celebrations this Saturday.

If you want a Luther Burger, then please advise on this thread to make sure there are enough donuts. This will be a priceless experience because surely where else can you get this? (Of course, like all LTH get togethers, we will pay our way.)

    Regards,
    Cathy2

I have to work in Edgewater until 12:30-1:00 on Saturday, but I'll stop by as soon as I'm done and see if any LTHers are still there. I love donuts and burgers, but I'm a bit intimidated by the Luther burger. I'll stick to corn dogs and fries. Thanks.

OK, in the course of my tenure on this board I've eaten eyeballs, bugs, sea creatures big and small, hearts, illegal cheese, goat head, brains....and this, well, this gets to me. However, when I pitched the event to my family, Sparky's eyes lit up and he immediately said "MMMmmm - Yes! No ketchup, no mustard."

So there you have it - we're in for 3, one Luther burger between us. We may be a little late, as Sparky's gymnastics class lets out at noon. He has also put in a request for an order of fried bacon - we plan on starting an account with a pediatric cardiac unit immediately following lunch.

    Hi,

So far we are in for a dozen or half dozen donuts, depending on how the Luther is constructed. We have room for more!

I plan to be there - although I will be happy to share a Luther burger - with, say, four or five others. This may be a case in which the first bite might be the best.

I'm in. What can I bring? Extra donuts?

I'm going to try and make it. I'll pass on the Luther Burger, but I can go for a dipped dog or two. Perhaps I'll bring a little boy or two along, although I'm worried his/their future with donuts might be forever scarred...
Did you know there is an LTHforum Flickr group? I just found it...

I know it's late notice, but I'm coming. Only corn dogs for me though.
    Have another. It's 9:30, for God's sake. ~Roger Sterling
