Yippee! Got a sitter for the kids. We are dropping them off in the Lakeview area and want to try a restaurant around Southport and Fullerton. Any recommendations for a good place we can walk into without reservations? We aren't going to be too dressed up, so nothing fancy. And since we get a few hours, nothing overly casual (we want to be gone long enough to miss them

We will have our car, so we can always drive somewhere if there is valet. After this snow, I don't think there will be any street parking unless we bring our own shovel.

    Thanks-
    Foodiemom

You should be able to get a walk-in table at Sweets and Savories without too much trouble.

    Best,

I concur with Michael's suggestion and will tell you that, in the 1400 block of Fullerton, there are a number of metered spaces that I usually have luck finding open. They start on the southside of the street in front of Tatoo and go east down to the strip center that Trotters to Go is located in.

Sounds good! I'll post with a review if that's where we go. Sorry I missed the white truffle tasting! That sounds great!

Great suggestion; that's THE place to eat in that neighborhood.

If you happen to know in advance what time you'll be dining, they accept reservations on opentable (you can click on the link on the Sweets and Savories website).
