My mother's always been a bit hard to buy gifts for and this year isn't any different.

One of the few leads she's actually given me to use while shopping for her was "a heated casserole dish for transporting warm food".

It sounds like an open invite for food poisoning to me, but I'm going to at least attempt to humor her request. Does anyone even make anything like this? I'd always figured you'd be better off warming some bricks in the oven and wrapping them in cloth and tossing them in an Igloo, but she wants a purpose-built device.

What would it even be called? I've been trying various combinations of "heated" "warming" "casserole" and "transport" in Froogle with zero luck so far.

    Any ideas?

There are Pyrex and Corning Ware dishes that slide into an insulated canvas cover with straps and then you microwave an "ice pack" type device that will slide into the lid. I've got a couple of them.

Look at Dept Stores. or try QVC.

    Thanks Bruce.

I tossed "hot pack" and "microwave" into the search and got scores of hits.
