Well, Wendys has just introduced a new sandwich called the "Spicy Baconator". What could be better than two 1/4lb hamburger patties, six strips of bacon, some chipotle ranch sauce, two slabs of pepper jack cheese all topped with some jalapenos? I'll answer, (just about) nothing!!!
I sauntered up the the counter and said with great pride "I'll take the number 4 meal combo (Baconator)". The chick at the counter said, "Are you sure?" I replied, "Yes!" She meekly asked, "Would you like to supersize that?" Me (thinking that if I'm going to diet hell I'm jumping in with both feet) said, "Make it a medium." So the counter chick flops down the burger (56 grams of fat), a medium fry (20 grams of fat) and a diet coke
I engage the burger like a hyena on a gazelle. With each bite I feel my arteries clog as my heart strains to pump the grease / cholesterol mixture through my veins. In between bites, I ask my dining companion if he's up to date on his CPR skill and he said that he was, but he added that if I coded out I was "on my own". Great, but come to think of it it's probably better that way (I'm not sure I want some dude giving me mouth to mouth CPR).
When I got to the point where there was just a couple of bites left, I noticed that the bun had turned from a bun into a tasty bread/grease paste like substance (yummy). At this point I'm starting to feel kind of sick and really bloated (and hating myself). I squeezed myself back into my car and drove back to the office hoping that I'd hit a bump or something to make myself puke out the noxious combination that was brewing in my belly (no such luck).
Needless to say I'm currently paying the price (bloated and heartburn) for my lunchtime adventure (1710 calories and 75 grams of fat at one sitting). Thank god for sweatpants and it looks like there will be some extra time at the gym tomorrow.....
It still begs the questions:
Would I do it again, nope.....
Am I glad I did, nope.......
