It's time to stop complaining about the lack of affordable lunch options downtown, between my favorite downtown spotand this one. Today was my first visit, and the menu shows quite a bit of promise: hand cut fries, fresh cut, made-in-house onion rings, hand-shaped burgers, a rotisserie spinning tasty-looking chickens, and lots more good looking stuff. The best part of this place is how out-of-whack the pricing is, compared to everything else in the area.

Note: all of these menu prices below include a FREE 12 OUNCE BEER! :o

    - Fried perch sandwich with fries and cole slaw: $5.75
    - 1/2 pound burger with grilled onions, fries and cole slaw: $6.25
    - Grilled Italian sausage on french bread with fries: $5.95
    - Turky (sic) burger with pickle and fries: $6.45
    - 1/2 rotisserie chicken with fries, cole slaw, bread and butter: $6.75

Did I mention, all of that includes a FREE BEER!!!

So far I've sampled only the fries, and they were well above average. They passed the "Does it taste like an actual potato?" test with flying colors. I look forward to trying and reporting about more soon.

    Anyone else been here?

I've been there with a friend who swears by it, his office is around the corner a block or two. Fries were pretty good, but the beer that you mentioned is a choice of Miller Lite or MGD. MGD I can suffer through, but Miller Lite is something that should be flushed BEFORE it passes through a human body. My pal recommended the steak burrito, which must have had 8 small pieces of skirt steak, at most, in a pile of beans. It really wasn't that great, other than the pricing. I'd be willing to try the perch sandwich or something else, but the burrito wasn't anything special.

I used to live around the corner and have been here a few times. The fries are really good, however, I haven't had anything else that was exceptional or really stood out in any way, besides the salsa they serve with the tacos. It was very good.

The steak for the tacos is simple griddled/steamed meat, somewhat bland. I've tried the grilled cheese, which is an average greasy one, not bad. The perch was fishy when I tried it. I just recall a general blandness/greasiness to the food I tried, but I haven't tried too much there, so I probably missed the good items.

I like the atmosphere of the place. It is laid back and relaxing. The people who work there are very nice.

We order delivery from Flamingo's semi regularly at my office. The food is relatively inexpensive, the fries and salsa are good. I recently tried the charbroiled chicken plate that they had on the menu and the chicken was so dry it was pretty inedible.

One thing about their delivery, generally they will at least forget part of your order, sometimes, they'll bring it out, other times they won't and they'll tell you that you never ordered the item.
One Mint Julep was the cause of it all.
