No, but I did have one of chef Eastwood's dishes at a recent charity event at Vie and it was very promising. He also has a new place, Olo, which is scheduled to open very soon in Chicago (west Randolph street).

I've been twice, first right after they opened and the service was a little off but the second time, last year, everything was spot on. They rotate the menu with the season. I don't remember what I had but the sauce was so good I wanted to lick the plate.

Isabella's is quite good. Its food is Mediterranean-focused and it has a nice collection of wines to accompany the food. The dining room also has a nice casual elegance that makes one feel they're out for a "fancy dinner", (and the experience matches up to the look, thankfully!) The Mediterrenean spreads with a glass of sparkling is a tasty way to start things out!

I'd second all the remarks so far. I ate at Isabella's a few weeks ago and it was an excellent experience. The Mediterranean Starter is a plate of Tzatziki, Melitzanosalata, Taramosalata and Hummus with olives and pita. All homemade and really good.

My morning paper reports that's Isabella's will serve it's last meals this Saturday night. The economic downturn is the blame.

Bummer. Thanks for the bad news. I've had a few very nice meals there, most recently this past November.

How sad. We stopped in there for a drink in mid December on a Saturday night before having dinner at Bien Trucha. The bar was completely empty and the restaurant was also. The bartender was not hopeful at that time.
