At the risk of suffering through some future Purgatory and/or sustaining very bad mojo and major hits against my karma:

Is there a decent source for salt and pepper shrimp and crispy fried noodles on the North/Northwest side?

I wish that I could, but I can't make it, alas, to Little Three Happiness every day.

    Holiday cheers, all,
    Wade

    Hi Wade,

Silver Seafood on North Broadway serves Salt & Pepper variations, which Vital Information comments on in the link I provided.

I'd also recommend Nhu Hoa. OK, I haven't had the salt and papper shrimp, but their salt & pepper squid sure is tasty.

. . . and that sound you might be hearing is my stomach rumbling from hungry anticipation.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try them this week.

Nhu Hoa's salt and pepper squid looks divine.

    Cheers,
    Wade

I've had good S&P Shrimp on Argyle at a few places. Most notably, Hai Yen and Tank.

I tried Nhu Hoa today (I'd been seeing Rich4's photo of the salt and pepper squid in my dreams), and had the squid and salt and pepper shell-on shrimp. I'm a happy witness to Rich4's testament.

    Cheers,

Don't laugh at me, but the S&P shrimp at King's Buffet in Golf Mill mall are OK! The whole buffet is actually pretty good, and certaintly a good value. Really!

some time ago Monica Eng wrote that one of her favorite S&P shrimps around twon was at Sun Wah. For some reason I've never had that dish there, as I'm usually grabbing stuff for takeout but it might be a good option to try. I'm usually pretty happy with what I do take out.

at Silver Seafood, I'm not as fond of their shrimp, but their S&P cuttlefish has at times been really outstanding.

I'm also a little surprised by the recs for nhu hoa's Shrimp. I like Nhu Hoa quite a bit but have always found thier shrimp dishes to be a little off, just not all that fresh tasting and have stuck with land animals there.
