Hey, LTHers, thought you might enjoy this song/video that accompanies my Chicago magazine column.

It's a cynical ode to the life of a dining critic, so it should be right up your alley.

I don't know if this is the right spot on LTH for this - if not, I apologize. Feel free to move it to the appropriate area, Mr. Moderator.

Another possibility: Moderatrix or Moderatrice. In Castilian, they actually do differentiate un-ironically: moderador / moderatriz.

Hey Media Type ( ), I dug this homage to Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" open to Don't Look Back. The cute kid helps...and thanks for posting this.

You really long for Manwich? Now, that's disturbing (though I guess it is paradigmatic lonely guy food).

Thanks, David. I was going to call it 'Subterranean Rice Chex Blues' but I figured no one would get it.

I would eat Manwich every day of the week if I could.

    Jeff,

Very funny, love the dedication and I don't think anyone on LTHForum has called you a hack, at least lately. ;)

    Very cute kid, yours?

    Enjoy,

LOL! Nice job, Jeff. Definitely got the Dylan homage. And I can especially relate to the Dolinsky reference, as my son has an autographed head shot of him on his nightstand.

    Hi,

Finally got around to reading and listening to what you linked to.

ME: And Edith Piaf performs there?
    LPBM: Yes. Wait. What?
ME: Edith Piaf. It says in the listing: "Edith Piaf warbles old torch songs to sophisticated diners nibbling baguettes and sipping French varietals."
LPBM: Um. Edith Piaf is dead.
ME: Oh. I'm sorry. Were the two of you close?

It reminds me of a German intern at the Chicago Tribune who called a contact to learn, "They had just passed." He inquired, "When are they coming back?"

Very content baby. I see you even worked LTHforum in to the song, though not exactly one of our finer moments.

Clever song, Mr. Dining Critic. (I tell people it is a hobby.)

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Very, very cute video and song!

I enjoyed the accompanying article; it reminded me of a piece in Bon Appetit's May issue by Alan Richman, which unfortunately, I can't find a link to. Yours I can relate to a bit more...

Jeff Ruby has a video up of a song called the lonely critic in which he has a nice reference to LTH.
