I just got this via e-mail. Thought I'd post it for all the bbq fans out there.

Juicy teams up with Chicago's own Smoque and Walla Walla's K Vintners for the ultimate BBQ/wine pairing...

You know, all of us here at Juicy love lots of different things. Movies. Music. Books. Booze. But few things on this planet get our pulses racing like wine and barbecue. The perfect pairing. The toothsome twosome. Why do they get our hearts a flutterin'? 'Cuz few things in this whole damn universe go together quite as well as wine and barbecue.

And that's why we're bringin' in the big guns for The Smoque Out. On Thursday, April 15 from 7 - 9 p.m., join us as we welcome two of our very favorite providers of delicious wine and mouthwatering barbecue in the country: Walla Walla's K Vintners and Chicago's very own Smoque BBQ.

Charles Smith from K will personally pair the juiciest of his wines with the finger-lickingest best barbecue in the city, Smoque BBQ, right here at Juicy. He'll be pouring his latest releases, including Boom Boom Syrah as well as crowd-pleasers House Wine, Kung Fu Girl and Holy Cow Chardonnay. To top it off, DJ L.A. JESUS will be spinning his favorite tracks all night too. All of that for just $25 clams.

Great to finally get a chance to taste Smoque BBQ last night at Juicy.

Even under the conditions of eating off site, I really enjoyed the food. They brought brisket, pulled pork & St. Louis ribs; plenty of sauces (on the side), and the baked beans & slaw.

Now I'm even more inclined to get to Smoque someday, just haven't had the opportunity. I think my parents would enjoy the food, so hopefully they can get up for a visit soon & we can head over there.

The wines provided were great; 3 Whites and 4 Reds. We got to the Reds when we started sampling the food, and those paired nicely. Great discount provided if you wanted to purchase any of the bottles.

I picked up Kung Fu Girl Riesling as a Mother's Day gift & my companion went for a few of the higher end bottles, The Boy (K Vintners grenache blend) and a Viognier, also from K Vintners.

All in all, a nice night. A little bit crowded due to the popularity, but still a nice time.

    miss ellen
