Plastic squeezy bottles

Hi,

I'm looking for a bottle like this



or maybe these



for storing different types of oils by the cooker and maybe squirting sauce onto a plate in an artistic manner...
I have le creuset oil \ vinegar dealies but they're too fussy.

Any ideas where i would locate some?

Bed bath & beyond and Sur La Table will definitely have those.

Any restaurant supply house has them. Gold Bros in the city, Pierce in Countryside.

I just got some at the Family Dollar on Irving Park & Mozart.

They're great for making designs on plates (or directly on food) with sauces, or topping cookies with royal icing. Also, you can make your own sauces (i.e. chocolate syrup), store them in the bottles, and wash and reuse them instead of buying store-bought stuff.

I put sour cream in them and it's easier to put on tacos- more evenly distributed.

Frosting...makes decorating cookies a snap!

I bought red and yellow ones at, I believe, K Mart. Wife thinks I'm goofy, but I put ketchup and mustard in mine. Makes me feel like I'm at a picnic.

Gotta love Family Dollar...and Dollar Plus, etc. Usually my first go-to place for culinary widgets where quality isn't as much of an issue...

For me, the quality of plastic containers used for long-term food storage is an issue. I'd like to have some assurance that my squirt bottles are truly made of food grade plastic. Dollar stores are fine for corkscrews that break after a few uses but I'd be wary of buying plastic food storage containers there.

Michaels should have some in the Wilton section.

Today I saw some of these in the housewares section at H-Mart.

There was a tip in the most recent issue of Fine Cooking about this. The tipster suggested washing out and reusing clear plastic mustard squeeze bottles-- a great idea, if you use the right type of mustard and you can get the bottle clean.

Hi,

I finally bought Kewpie (Japanese) mayonnaise. I love its' plastic bottle with the very squishy sides. Normally I just pop open the top and extruded a rounded bit of mayo. This evening I accidentally learned if you unscrew the top, there there is a ridged tip that gives a decorative 4 or 5 point star or rope. I'm not sure if it can be opened further and cleaned, because this would be an excellent plastic bottle to re-use.

We put maple syrup in them. Since we buy the large container at costco it makes it easier to dispense.

Sally Beauty Supply or other similar store always has a variety of sizes of plastic squeeze bottles on hand.

Those plastic bottles have intended end-use for cosmetics. They may not necessarily be made from food-safe plastics. You may want to phone them in advance to learn if those bottles will pass muster.
