    We're going to take a couple of trips from Crystal Lake to various suburbs for lunch just for the heck of it......any recommendations for fun places to eat past Mt. Prospect within walking distance of the train?

    La Tasca is a good Tapas place w/in a stone's throw of the Arlington Heights Station.

    Fuego is the more creative of the two, whereas La Chicanita is more conventional in their cuisine.

    EDIT: I've been to all three of them for lunch so I'm sure they're open...

    Certainly the best Vietnamese food this far north is Dung Gia, right across from the Des Plaines train station. Here's the thread:

    Thanks, everyone. The vietnamese place is first on my list. Does anyone know of anything else heading toward the city? (I grew up in MP and currently work in AH, so I'm a frequent visitor in both towns for food!!) I'm looking for suggestions for Park Ridge, Edison and beyond. Thanks much!

    There should be some good choices in Edison Park, although I'm not sure exactly what's open for lunch beside getting a good sub at Tony's.
