You know, it now occurs to me that Khan's was, in it's original location, the restaurant called Khan's Bar B Que Tonite. I used to have the toughest time finding Khan's because the larger sign with the larger text said Bar B Que Tonite.
The many alternative spellings of BBQ always make for tough searching, but I saw references to another well-regarded Pakistani place called BBQ Tonight in Dallas. My suspicion, based on similar naming trends among desi restaurants, is that a popular place in Pakistan is called "BBQ Tonight" and the various US and Canadian outposts pay tribute. You might ask the folks at Khan about the connections.
