Any decent breakfast spots on/near North Ave between 294 & 59? I've been to Olde North Pancake House. Thanks in advance.

I was gonna suggest Olde North too, that's my favorite.

In Elmhurst, about a 1/2 mile south of North Ave(64) and just east of York Rd is an Egg Harbor. A very good breakfast place. It's in the middle of downtown Elmhurst next to the Walgreens. http://www.eggharborcafe.com/

I would suggest Christophers at 691 N. York in Elmhurst. It closes at 3. Egg Harbor is good, but my go to place is Christophers. They get me in and out quicker than any place in town.

It is about a mile North of North ave., or about 1/4 mile north of 290 on york.

You can't go wrong with either place

Millie's on Lake street in Addson is very good

Just a bit of disclosure - my family has known the family that has owned Millie's for years. That being said, objectively, this place is good. It's family owned (obviously) and I believe, on their 3rd generation. It's a pancake house with a Scandinavian influence. I haven't been in years but I think next time I'm out there, I'll pop my head in. Enjoy.

Hope this isn't too late, don't want my first post to be in vain... :)

My favorite breakfast place in that area is Red Apple, which is just south of North and Schmale. Their skillets are top notch (I'm partial to the corned beef hash skillet) and they have a really good stuffed french toast. Definitely recommended.

It's been a while since I've been, but let me second Christophers. Excellent feta cheese and spinach omelette, one of the best I've had in Chicago area. Gotta go back and try anuther one of these days.

I'll second that rec. That used to be the only place we would go for breakfast when we lived close by. I think it may be my out-of-town-MIL's favorite place around here, period. We miss it now that we moved. Decent biscuits and gravy, and baked apple pancakes were our favorites, but everything was always good.

Thanks again. Eventually I'll be heading back out that way.
