Tour The Farms, Saturday May 10

an email I got from the folks behind Winter Farmers Markets, which are sponsored by Churches' Center for Land and People (CCLP)...

The Brodhead (WI) Chamber of Commerce sponsors a tour of five area farms (including our own Scotch Hill Farm and Kinkoona Farm), that provides a glimpse of how families make a living off the land. It's a reasonable drive, yet a world away from the city! Farm tours are free and open to the public, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A map is available via www.brodheadchamber.org ; Or consider biking it--go to www.earthridercycling.com for information on a group tour or self-guided biking tours. The tour includes: Morningstar Farm (organic fruits and vegetables); Kinkoona Farm (sheep farm, wool products); Scotch Hill Farm (goats, vegetable gardens, soap, CSA subscriptions); Neiman Family Farm (dairy farm); Sugar Maple Emu Farm (emu pen tours, emu meat tasting, deocrated emu eggs and products); and Downtown Brodhead Tinkers Garden (two dimensional plywood cows decorated by Brodhead businesses will be on display).
