    Hi, all!

Has anyone been to Exposure in the South Loop? The menu is interesting, but I am wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge of how fabulous/disappointing it is... Would reservations be best?

I need someplace close the the Grant Park Best Western (1100 S. Michigan) to take a visiting presenter/work colleague. Someplace nice-ish, but not super fancy. I found Zapista, but the reviews on the Board don't make that seem a good choice. My colleague does not eat red meat, but writes that she likes, "fish, chicken, and all kinds of healthy ethnic cuisines." (We're going for Thai on Monday night.) I would prefer someplace within walking distance of the BW since i will likely be taking public transportation downtown and leaving the car at home.

Right now, we're aiming for either a 2:30 lunchtime or dinner a few hours after that.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!
    peace,
    Katharine

I think the place fits your bill. I went with 7 or 8 other people and tried a bunch of dishes when they first opened. All I remember is that the service was great, they had a live band coming in that night when we were just finishing up, and food was good (nothing bad that I can remember of), but also nothing memorable that I would make it into a destination spot. They claimed to be tapas-style American, but portion if I remember were mostly along the line of entree size (but not cheesecake factory size). I would imagine the dinner slot would be more lively than lunch slot since it's not exactly around a business district. I had a good 20min wait when we went on a Friday night with a 8PM reservation. Nice medium sized 6-8 table lounge area for your pre-meal wait as well if so happens. So considering what your are describing, biz lunch-dinner spot in a nice environment (it's a modern-hip decorated place), it would work.

You might want to give Mercat a la planxa a look. It's 4 blocks north of you. It's a little more expensive than Exposure, but of higher quality:
