Cost Plus World Market in Schaumburg closing

Hi All,

I was shocked to pull up in front of the Cost Plus World Market on Golf today to see signs that said "EVERYTHING MUST GO!" and " TOTAL INVENTORY LIQUIDATION."

Right now, here are the clearance prices on some of their food/cooking items:

Gourmet Food is 10% off
Glassware (near the wine) is 20% or 30% off
Coffee makers and accessories (Grinders, frothers, etc) are 20% off
Most dishware and cookware is running 20 to 30% off

There are no discounts on wine.

Another chicagoland store is also closing, but I can't recall which one.

According to the casher, they expect the liquidation clearance to run through the end of June, so I'm sure more markdowns are on the way. From the amount of inventory, they must have just started the liquidation as everything was well stocked.

Here's an article discussing World Market closures and openings...fortunately, although parking there is a pain, the Downtown Evanston store seems to be off the chopping block.

There's another store in Hoffman Estates. I was sad that they closed the Skokie store, which was en route to a variety of things for me.
