Is there a deli at Foster & California that has a bunch of sketches of famous chicago folks in it? Or was it there? I believe my soon to be father in law may have a sketch in there if it still exists, and if so I'd like to track it down :)

There is a Greek coffee shop on the NW corner of that intersection, The Hilltop Restaurant. It's been there for a long time. I don't know about any sketches, but that's the only thing that I think it could be, unless it's some place that Swedish Covenant Hospital replaced.

Back in the "good old days", the place used to be called Burt's and was more like the deli you describe. Burt's closed sometime between 1969 - 1972.
