Very handy for picnics, Cubs games, Lyric Opera, snacking at work, bedside table, etc.

While it's been about 20 years since I had canned bacon, I have fond memories of having it on our family canoe trip in Canada. I can't really tell from the photos provided if that stuff is pre-cooked but the stuff we had was uncooked.

Don't forget funerals and job interviews. (I'm a nervous eater.) I think it would also make a fine first impression at singles bars, accompanied by a line to replace "come here often?" such as "Do you like bacon, big boy? I got your bacon right here."

I think I may have to agree. Although I used to eat Real Bacon bits out of the jar, so who am I to say? Where does one get such a product? I've got a Cubs game coming up on Wednesday.

Most of the pre-cooked bacon now is in a flat pack in plastic.

Oh man oh man, does this take me back or what?!! Back in The Day, esp. in grad school, we ate lots and lots of Danish canned bacon--DAK, Plumrose, Dansk, etc. I've checked, they don't do it anymore. But they do lots of other pkgs of pre-cooked bacon.

There also was (and maybe still is) a perfectly acceptable product from Hungary:

I checked out the brand mentioned, and here's a good spread (so to say):

And also, in messing about, I found a sort of an interesting group here, that some might enjoy:

    Fun approach!

Canned Danish bacon was always pretty high quality, tasty, and objectionable only in that the paper wrapping was ever so gooooey and slimy when you pulled the pack out of the can.

    Great stuff!

Bumping this thread because I saw something in Southwest Airlines in-flight magazine this week I thought this crowd would appreciate - Bacon dental floss!

Recipe (with fantastic pictures) for bacon-cheese tenderloin (made entirely of bacon and cheese, no other meat involved):

God that looks great. You know how that would be tasty? Rolled inside one of Auntie Anne's buttered pretzels. Mmmmmm.
