23rd Annual Hunger Walk, June 14, Montrose Harbor

Greater Chicago Food Depository wrote:The 23rd Annual Hunger Walk takes place Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Montrose Harbor. The Hunger Walk directly benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository's member pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Last year, more than 4,700 walkers helped raise more than $366,000 to support hunger-relief programs in our community. The Hunger Walk is a fun day for a serious cause: festivities include the Jesse White Tumbling Team, WCIU's Green Screen Adventures and other special guests along the shores of Lake Michigan. The festivities begin at 8 a.m. and the Hunger Walk steps off at 9:30. All walkers receive a goody bag, snacks and T-shirt. Get involved with the Hunger Walk through a sponsorship, by organizing a team or by making a donation.
