Graduation Dinner?

Greetings.
Wonder if anyone could provide some quick advice. I'm trying to plan a graduation dinner for this Saturday. I was a little late in the planning, so I could only get reservations at MK and at Aigre Doux.
Wonder which one people would suggest we go to, or if there are any others I should try getting a res at.

While we probably don't want 100+ a person, price isn't too much of a concern. We have a broad variety of ages -- from 19 to 85, but all are pretty 'open-minded eaters'

Just want quality, nice decor, good service...you know, the works.

It is obvious where the price point should be and the restaurants you listed are at 230 w kinzie and 868 N franklin. Are there any other details to consider like number in party, radius from the loop, amount of ambiance vs food experience, private room, etc?

My apologies:
It's a party of 9, and a private room is not important. Really, anywhere in the city is fine enough --- maybe the FAR outlying wards would be too far, but we're mobile. Not sure how to rank food vs. ambience -- both are important, probably food a bit more.

If it were me, I'd go to May Street Market: terrific food, friendly service, in your price range, and a nice quiet room for a family celebration.

Not nearly as refined but for a lot less dough and considerably more relaxed, we have had several graduation dinners at Club Lucky. For a UI med school graduation, we were one of at least three groups of newly minted doctors.

This is from BShepard's mom. I want this to be a really special evening because we are very proud of our son and we want this night to be something we can remember.

When he graduated from high school, we took him to Citronelle in DC and we're still talking about that meal.

We have a 5:30 res at MK and a 6 pm res at Aigre Doux. We'd prefer to eat at 6, unless the food is that much better at MK.

Anyone eaten at Aigre Doux?

As for food vs. decor -- food wins.
