I will be at the Chicago Historical Society today and would like to have dinner somewhere in the neighborhood, preferably close so I can walk.
Fish is my preference. No meat or pasta.
    Thank you

Unfortunately North pond is closed on Mondays.

Using Germuska's technique of Mapping LTH I did a search of the site; unfortunately, I'm not coming up with much - am I using the correct address?

I plugged site:lthforum.com loc: 1601 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614 into the search bar at Google Maps. What about Cafe Spiaggia? Too far?

I'm not sure what your price range is, but Geja's Cafe (340 W. Armitage, 0.5 miles NW of CHS) is very good. It's a fondue place that has a seafood-heavy option, but it's pretty pricey. For example, on quick glance, they have one dinner that's just scallops (not including side dishes) for $32 and one that's a seafood mix for $46. A splurge but worth it; the food is yummy and the ambiance is very attractive and private.

I had thought of North Pond. Thanks for letting me know it's closed on Mondays.
It is the Chicago historical Museum I am going to. Not society (sorry). I was at geja's like 24 years ago, very good.
Thanks for the input. Maybe Mon Ami Gabi?? I love their Skate.

They are one and the same. The Chicago Historical Society is now the Chicago History Museum.

Tiparos is pretty close, for okay Thai food. If you want to walk a couple more blocks west, you'll find plenty of options in Old Town.

There isn't much good fish close to the Chicago history museum, but there are a lot of good restaurants (all of the restaurants listed are on Wells between Schiller and Lincoln).

    Best fish options:
    - Kamehachi has decent sushi and some good fish dishes.
    - Trattoria Roma makes a decent sauteed tilapia. Plus they have outdoor seating and half price bottles of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    Other good options:
    - Old Jerusalem - good, cheap middle eastern food. They have great tabouli.
    - Adobo Grill - really good drinks, apps and guacamole. The entrees are only OK and overpriced though.
    - Nookies - if you decide you just want a burger or an omelet. Good, cheap food.

I've got to strongly disagree with that statement. Check out these posts about L.20, one of the city's newest restaurants and quite possibly the best seafood destination in town. It's located just a few blocks North of the museum, right on the park in the old Ambria space. Now, it isn't inexpensive, in fact it's quite pricey but who would want to eat budget fish, anyway?
