Dragonfly, in Truckee just keeps getting better and better. I've been recommending Dragonfly for a few years now but last weeks meal was the best ever.

MsRev and I decided to start with a couple cocktails on a perfectly warm, sunny, late afternoon in Truckee. Ginger-yuzu margarita with sauza hornitas reposado tequila, fresh ginger, yuzu and lime juices, and triple sec, and Thai cosmopolitan fris with lemon infused vodka, fris red thai chili infused vodka, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and lime juice. Their drinks are made with fresh juices so they are quite good.

I can't buy soft shell crabs retail in Tahoe so when they are offered on a menu in season I jump at them. They served a wonderful soft shell crab tempura with avocado sauce and corn and red onion relish. Perfect! Peruvian Tiradito Ceviche made with hamachi, lime juice, aji amarillo, and sweet potato chips were pristine and refreshing.

Our entrees were terrific. Grilled Kurobuta Pork Porterhouse with green chili-bacon mac n' cheese, broccolini, scallion relish, and hoisin demi and Chili Tea Rubbed Kobe Beef Flat Iron with grilled romaine hearts, chimichurri, crispy onions, ginger mashed potatoes, and ancho-coconut demi. Neither dish featured a sweet sauce, as the ingredients might indicate.

Wontons stuffed with banana was a luscious finish to the meal.
