Has anyone else seen this? It's essentially a benefit for Green City Market. $1 of every meal purchased goes to the market.

Enjoy special fixed-price menus, early dinner
seatings and fine dining for the whole family

    Diners of all ages

Everyday, from June 21–28 (when school’s out and
family fun is number one) for seatings from 5:30pm - 6:30pm

At many of Chicago’s top restaurants
Click here for a list of confirmed restaurant partners
    http://www2.eventier.com/ge/gwckids/restaurants.html

Kids 11 and under pay their age; everyone else, $20.08 when accompanied by a child

We have reservations at Prairie Grass next Wednesday. Sounds like a nice idea!

Anyone seen a full list of menus for Kids' Restaurant Week? A quick online search found these menus from http://www.seriouseats.com/required_eating/2008/06/kids-restaurant-week-in-chicago-illinois.html, which seems like they simply called each restaurant for the menu:

    One Sixtyblue
Wood oven one sixtyblue pizzetta with mozzarella, tomato, and basil
Homemade parmesan gnocchi with corn, peas, baby carrots, and herb emulsion
Vanilla bean ice cream with raspberry coulis and cookies
For children under age 2: broccoli puree, roast turkey slice, vanilla bean ice cream

    May Street Market
Three-course menu for 12 and up, two-course menu for 11 and under, with many options. See their kid's menu online.

    Osteria Via Stato
    Green City Market veggie antipasto
    House-made cheese ravioli
    Wisconsin strawberry gelato
Chef's hats for the kids to color, and recipes to take home

    Prairie Grass Cafe
Mixed greens with edible flowers, honey balsamic vinaigrette, big whole grain half moon croutons
Roasted chicken with potatoes and Green City Market vegetables
    Local strawberries with whipped cream

The impression I got from folks who posted on the events board is that the menu is set for each restaurant, only one thing is available from each place. I'd call the restaurants first, I'm not sure that that link is accurate.

Kid's Restaurant Week is back this year June 20-28. Looks like there's a decent list of restaurants participating.

wish you didn't need to have a kid... don't see why they don't offer the adult menu to adults with no kids.

oh well... anyone have a kid they want to rent out? they will be well fed.

Somehow I got the impression that adults sans kids could still get the $29 menu. I have no idea where I got that idea though.

Here's what's disappointing to me about this event. I looked online at the available menus. Most of the restaurants were still offering "kid" food. They were just a little fancier. I could order a nice meal for myself, but my kids were still being offered grilled cheese, chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. They can get than any time. I see this as an opportunity to expand my kid's palates. I wish the restaurants did as well.

Yeah, I agree. When I started calling around to the restaurants I was interested in, almost all of them had some combination of cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, cheese pizza and/or mac n cheese for the kids. I did find that Cafe Spiaggia actually has decent choices for the kids. I have a reservation there for tomorrow night...

We went with our two kids to Vie for the Kid's week menu and it was outstanding. Instead of the potato puree listed on their web site, the side was stuffing and the whole dish was the ultimate comfort food.

Saturday June 20 through Saturday June 27
Prix fixe menus: Adults pay $29; kids 11 and under pay their age
Early dinner seatings 5:00-7:00 pm. A portion of proceeds to benefit the Green City Market.

    first
    local lettuces, herbs, peas, radishes,
    pickled spring onion vinaigrette

    second
blue marble buttermilk soaked and fried gunthorp farm chicken,
green acres carrots, nichols farm potato puree, local milk gravy

    to finish
prairie fruits farm fresh chevre mousse,
    klug farm strawberries, vanilla cookies

Big Jones had a very nice kid's meal last Sunday-I wish I had ordered it-but it took an unreal amount of time to serve it. Our meal took 3 hours-that means 2 extra trips for quarters patrol.
