We recently bought the VillaWare Classic Waffler, model #3000, and have been very happy with it. It chirps when the waffles are perfectly cooked. This model makes traditional waffles, not thick, Belgian waffles. It was also inexpensive ($39.99, plus free shipping) at Amazon.
