I just saw the No Reservations for Indonesia. Bourdain visits a place that serves a Bali style roasted pig. It looks amazing. Anyone know of any place in Chicago that serves this dish?

Saw it too, and I'm guessing even if you found a place that could offer something called "Bali Style Roasted Pig" it would probably not even be close to what you saw Bourdain having. Good? Probably. But same? I doubt it. Go get some carnitas from somewhere good, and keep wishing. Maybe get yourself invited to a pig roast this summer. If there is such a place here though, I'm definitely interested too.

Not the styles mentioned here, but Sun Wah is preparing to do a pig roast Also, if you search "pig roast" or "whole pig" - you'll probably get a lot of good info.

    Hi,

I would contact the Indonesian Consulate in Chicago to learn if there are caterers who will do it. If they do, then please advise us here.

    Regards,

Ibu Oka really is that good. We went back twice in three days. Nothing else tasted that delicious.

I've also been fortunate enough to try roast pork from the No Reservations Puerto Rico episode. Good, certainly - - but not like the Bali pig.

This woman booked a plane ticket to Indonesia after watching Tony on No Res:

Good luck finding something similar locally!! Let us know if you find something close, please!

It is hard as it is to find good Balinese suckling pig in Indonesia outside of Bali. I think you will just have to make a trip out there to try it.

I just got back from my trip to Bali and can't resist posting the pictures.

Got to Ubud early and ordered their special - Steam rice topped with tender suckling pig and crispy pork skin with a side of lawar (balinese side vegetables), and blood sausage.
