Any one know of a good place to go for my friends birthday tomorrow (Saturday) night with good cocktails, outside seating and no obnoxious "scene" ?

I don't know what you consider to be a "scene" so you'd have to be more specific, but using the forum's handy-dandy new and improved search yields quite a few options:

Here's a few that may fit the bill:

    Weegee's Lounge
3659 W Armitage - awesome "old school" cocktails and a great rear patio, no food but they let you bring it in.

    Fonda del Mar
3749 W Fullerton - full restaurant, but great little back patio and they make excellent margaritas, even a "half a boat" to line one side of the patio/fence!

    Moody's Pub
5910 N Broadway - okay, more beer than cocktails, but a GREAT back patio and outstanding burgers, beer by the pitcher, etc.

    Zapatista
1307 S Wabash - a tad "scenish" maybe but good people-watching and tasty margaritas (a huge tequila selection)

    I hope that helps...

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon? Ham? Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Thanks for the suggestions. We ended up at Bowman's. Not exactly what we were looking for, but a good night none the less.

And that's all that really matters in the end, right? :P
