    MAG on ABC & LPWF

Our own Melissa Graham (founding member of LTH, moderator emeritus, goddess of catsup, nonpareil chef, all-around cool person) will be appearing tomorrow on ABC7's 11am show to talk about cooking that's kind to the earth and the wallet. If you miss it or want to learn more, Melissa will be teaching a class on the same subject at the Lincoln Park Whole Foods on Tuesday July 8 at 7:00pm. The class is free, but registration is required. Call 312.587.0648 for more information.

Since I didn't check my e-mail yesterday, I forgot to watch Melissa this morning. Luckily, ABC already has it up on their site. So, if you missed it...

I TIVOed the segment, MAG was terrific, poised, informative, professional. Loved her first suggestion for maximizing culinary resources, Cook like a Grandma.

    Enjoy,

MAG made a very delicious looking dish, and the "eat like a grandparent" is becoming a mantra with Pollan, Petrini and now Graham. Good advice, I think, but only for people roughly in our age group. For many, it'd be more like "eat like your great-grandparent."

Excellent segment, good job Melissa. I too thought of the fact that Pollan says "eat like a grandma" but for somewhat different reasons. Good advice from multiple angles, as long as it doesn't lead to leaving dishes of hard candy on the coffee table till they form a solid block.

Also, probably best if I don't drink and smoke like mine.
