I live pretty close to Absolutely Delicious, so I thought I'd give it a try. I went a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was very good.

I had the daily special -- Tilapia with Jerk Seasoning on a bed of green Jamaican rice with mango/pinapple chutney. All of the flavors worked well together. It wasn't all that spicy. The sweetness of the chutney worked well with what heat there was.

I recommend that you stop in if you're in the neighborhood.

To: dicksond, guess you & I will have to agree to disagree. I liked Zander’s a lot. Since it changed ownership in 2006, it is moot.

I have tried AD twice now, both times for lunch.

The first time I had the house salad and vermicelli pomodoro. The salad seemed a little on the skimpy side and did not meet my expectations, although the house dressing was good. The pasta was only “OK”. I thought the sauce could have used some more spice (something).

The second time I had a bowl of soup and a sandwich. The cream of mushroom had a nice flavor, but was a little on the watery side and it was served lukewarm. Oh, forgot on my second visit I noticed my table was sticky after I had already sat down. As it was set up, this bothered me. My sandwich was a Cuban Pork sandwich. I have never had one so I thought I would give it a try. I ate the first half and didn’t really care for it, as the pickle on it seemed to turn me off. The second half I removed the pickle (looked light a kosher dill) and enjoyed this half more.

All in all I don’t think I will be going back as things (for me) just didn’t live up to the hype.

A caveat for all my comments is that while I eat out a lot, I am not very knowledgeable as to the why something I eat is not appealing. I envy those who can say: “needs basil”, etc.

Just a few comments here, I am delighted to see that 3,485 people have viewed this restaurant thread on the LTHForum. I'm very impressed.

Their website is once again active, and speaks for itself:

Absolutely Delicious will indeed be relocating. Previously located at 6118 South Cass, Westmont, it was in a small strip mall that was once the original home of Vincitori's. After Vincitori's relocated to the downtown district, AD came in, made minor modifications and set-up shop. The restaurant is co-owned by Chef John Flemming and his mother.

After recieivng Village Board approval for the move, i believe they anticipated an opening by Memorial Day to the old Brat House location, one storefront north of the exisitng Vincitori's location in downtown Westmont. Budget, construction, manpower and DuPage Health have provided numerous obstacles. In a conversation with John at the recently completed Taste of Westmont, he is optimististic for a August 1st opening.

The Brat House had numerous areas in need of upgrade, hence the time and cost overruns. The orignal location closed as their lease was up and the landlord may not have been willing to grant a short-term extension.

They will expand the menu, increase seating and have a beautiful outdoor patio and deck when complete.

My favorite menu item, and one which put them on the map - the aforementioned Cuban sandwich. It has a spicey kick, grilled bread instead of pressed, and does indeed contain pickles...as most Cubans do.

I beleive this will be another solid downtown Westmont restaurant and look forward to their opening.

I was stunned to hear of AD closing. Ah, but LTHF people know a lot, and I'm delighted to hear they will be opening again, just north of the RR tracks in downtown Westmont, right on Cass Avenue.

I'll be among the first to try their new location.

Anybody know if this place is opened yet? Oh, and is it in the place where the Brat House used to be?

AD experienced a brief opening the Thursday before Labor Day with an abreviated menu. It officially opened this past Thursday, September 4th with its full menu in place. We picked up a menu Friday night while getting a pizza from nearby Vincitori's and found the menu to be exactly the same. No changes that we could discern. We briefly entertained a visit last night but remembered something else and were detoured.
