I just did a search regarding Swedish Flop Coffeecake and nothing came up...
I am a HUGE fan of Swedish Flop and lack of info on the internet has prompted me to post about it. Since I am such a huge fan...does anyone know what its origins are? It seems to be quite often assocaited with Chicago bakeries...is it indeed a "Chicago thing"? Any recs of bakeries where you have had good Swedish Flop? I have been to Oak Park bakery and Continental Bakery....I live in the Western burbs but...if have good flop...will travel!!! I tend to like the filling a little on the sweeter side (buttercream?), without fruit and a good crumbly/moist crumb topping.
Any input would be great!
I am such a big fan I even thought at one time of changing my user name to Swedish Flop! I think I did quite a bit of calorie damage during my last pregnancy with Swedish Flop from Jewel ( it was close to the house and I was desperate)! Time to take my search and desired history lesson to a new level!
Thanks!
