Any ideas where I can find a pre-ground achiote paste in Chicago. I have ruined too many spice/coffee grinders while grinding my own annatto over the years. Out in California, a while back, I saw something like what is pictured below. Any ideas?

I do believe any of the Jimenez grocery stores will carry it in a little box in one of the aisles. Just a starting point for you. I'd bet there are quite a few other grocers that will carry it, but Jimenez locales are pretty plentiful.

Another good bet would be Tony's Finer Foods locations. Fullerton and Central PK would be a good bet for Tony's. If you give an approximate area, maybe a store could be pinpointed? It is available city wide if you know the right spot.

El Yucateco achiote paste seems relatively widely available.

If you are near Harvestime on Lawrence, I'd start there.

Roger's Park Fruit Market also has the El Yucateco brand, and I have used it on many an occasion...its pretty tasty, but I haven't used any other brand, so I have no point of comparison.

Most any of the many (many many) Chicagoland Mexican groceries sell achiote paste.

It had been a while since I had been to the Roger's Park Fruit Market, so I visited this afternoon and found the paste there. Thanks for the lead.
