I had a meal about a year and a half ago at this place that the entire family loved. It was one of those meals where all seven people enjoyed each appetizer and main course. I've been wary of returning because Chef Pluton had moved on to his new restaurant. I'm pleased to report that we went last night and it hasn't changed a bit. If you liked it before, you'll still like it (and vice versa, no doubt). The menu was at least half filled with dishes that were there on our last visit and execution was flawless.

I agree. We hadn't been there before, but had heard positive things about Jacky's from a number of Evanstonians. The consensus is the new owners have followed the sensible policy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Wife #1 and I had our first meal at Jacky's last week for our anniversary dinner and thought the food was very good. Friendly knowledgeable service; nice room. We'll be back.
Where there’s smoke, there may be salmon.

Just got back from Jacky's. Was great. Same menu. Had the roasted garlic, snails served in a small copper pot with butter, garlic, herbs, had the onion soup ( fine), and the pates ( they are even better than I remember: rilettes, something like proscioutto, 2 pates, a big scoup of coarse mustard, pickles, small onions.

anyway, was fine, washed down with some Pastis
