    LTHForum,

Noodles Party is fun to say, not so much to dine. Dumbed down Pan Asian pablum reaching for the broadest appeal and missing the mark. Thai Fresh Spring Rolls had the texture and taste of being made well in advance, Larb requested spicy hot was nothing more than ground pork with Sambal Oelek and Spicy Drunken Noodle (Pad Khee Mao) a study in out of ballance bland.

Clean, bright, friendly, well priced, Noodles Party will surely appeal to the broad spectrum of people who consider P.F. Chang's adventurous dining.

    Enjoy,
    Gary

I almost started a thread on this place myself. We live about a block-and-a-half away - I was going to title it "It's My Noodles Party And I'll Cry If I Want To." Sorry, I could have spared you the visit. I had such high hopes when we first noticed the place was geting a re-vamp from the dingy, dated spot it was previously. We got carry-out the first week they opened. Husband's red curry chicken came without any chicken. It had a lot of large chunks of eggplant though (which he hates.) Crab-creamcheese wontons were sooo greasy, and tasted of old fryer oil. Actually, everything we had was pretty oily. And the portions were on the small side compared to our usual delivery places (Siam Noodle, Thai Valley.) Of course, that wound up being the least of our issues as neither of us had the desire to finish any of it. I thought maybe it was just "first week" kinks, but haven't had the heart to go back as it was such a disappointment. At least you've spared me the second visit! Thanks, Lynn

The only possible redeeming factor for this place is that there is some sort of family connection to the former owner or chef of Hi Ricky and a few of the recipes are the same. Back in the day, Hi Ricky was one of my go to places for Asian noodle dishes. I will say that the Pad Khee Mao is a dead ringer for the old Hi Ricky version. Over the years, my tastes in Thai food have matured (to say the least) and now I can't imagine ever craving this overly sweet, underly balanced food.

How funny, my husband and I went to lunch with my stepdaughter yesterday and this restaurant came up in conversation. Subsequently, I was doing an LTH search for a different place and came across this thread. Anyway, I had to share my stepdaughter's experience with this place. She lives around the corner and had actually gone earlier this week and ordered something that based on the description of the menu sounded like sweet and sour chicken since she had a craving for it. What she took home was pieces of breaded chicken strips with a little bit of sauce on the side. To which my husband replied "What was the name of this place again? So we can avoid it."

Edited to add: I asked her where this was and she told me Lawrence and the other cross street and I told her that next time she should forget the forgettable Noodle Party and head over to Marie's Pizza.
