Does anyone have a local source for this? My brother-in-law brought some back from Barbados and I am hooked. If you haven't tried it, it is a pretty spicy hot sauce with a slight mustardy/citrusy finish. It's good on everything.

I haven't been in years, and can't confirm, but the Rogers Park Fruit Market used to have a large selection of caribbean marinades and sauces. Can't hurt to give them a call...

Thanks for reminding me of this dilemma, my search for this fantastic sauce has come to a halt. I have been looking for over a year now and have yet to find it, my supply is almost out so please let us know if you do find it, and I will do the same.

Not local, but is this what you are looking for? The quantity would seem to make the shipping worthwhile(~$20 to Chicago).

    All the best,

I'm not an expert across the brands of this sauce (have had it, but it was a table condiment, not out of a branded bottle), but the guy who seems to have cooked this recipe up did some scientific work to duplicate it. I may just need to get my blender out and make a batch...

I stopped by the Rogers Park Fruit Market today, didn't remember the name of your sauce there, but they do have a number of citrus-based hot sauces that may be similar. I snapped some pix with my cell, (I didn't get every shelf, skipping the more ubiquitous ones) sorry they're blurry but hope they help. You can't see the label, but there's a brand called Marie Sharp that has, among others, a "citrus" and "grapefruit" flavor. Another brand has mustard on the label, so maybe if you tried a few, you'd find an acceptable substitute.

I just pulled a bottle of Delish Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce out of my refrigerator. I picked it up on my last trip to Barbados and I love it. The ingredients are, in order, hot peppers, onions, mustard, vinegar and salt. Best of all, a little goes a long way.
