I hope you feel better! Try a bunch of ice packs and massages. Ice cream doesn't hurt, either.

I will still be going, but if someone could tell me which of these dishes are spicy when I get there, I'd appreciate it! I'm a bit of a spice wuss.

She who hesitates runs the risk of missing out on duck curry.

I imagine this is too late...but should there be any last-minute cancellations, my husband and I would love to attend.

Oh, there's plenty of things that are not too spicy there. The pork neck, most of the noodles dishes, things like that.

I'm still in for this, my friend is 90%, I will drag a confirmation out of her today.

What the hell, I'll try at least a bite of everything. I call seconds on the pork necks if I end up crying. Also, I noticed there was no dessert on the menu...?

There's usually some mango sticky rice at the end. I'll be honest, it's good but I generally find myself looking elsewhere for dessert when I eat asian food. Case in point, Saturday I went to Shui Wah but we hit Canady afterwards for gelato and a couple truffles.

I'll take the pork neck over dessert 9 times out of ten. It's that good.

Pie Lady, I'm not the best judge since my tolerance for heat is very high, but I think you'll be OK. And, yes, the pork neck is that good. I've had dreams about it. :D As for dessert, I talked to the folks at TAC Quick about it when I stopped in. I wasn't sure how many people would be interested. Octarine is right, usually there's mango sticky rice. They also have some Asian flavors of ice cream. It should be easy enough to request dessert for the group when you're there. Like everything else at TAC Quick, dessert options are very inexpensive.

My situation isn't looking so great, so I regret that I will have to bow out of my own event. I will call the restaurant one last time tomorrow afternoon to confirm the menu and the number of people. Suzy Creamcheese and Mr. Creamcheese are willing to count money at the end of the night and make sure the check is paid properly. (Anyone can do this, of course; I just want to make sure I'm not remiss in any of my organizer duties!) That should be all that needs to be done. Just show up at 6:30!

Oh yeah, I believe I count 19 people, which means there is one slot for dinner left. Pork neck! On choy! Any takers?

I agree! I still have my craving for pork neck and on choy, so TAC Quick will be one of my first destinations when I'm more mobile. I hope you all have a terrific meal tomorrow. I just called to confirm for 20, so everything should be set. Don't forget that TAC Quick is BYO.

TAC really rose to the challenge of cooking for and serving our large group last night. Food came out in nicely-paced courses, water glasses were always full, and minor mid-stream alterations to our pre-ordered menu were handled with grace. For a place of TAC's modest size, such fine handling was no small feat.

As impressive as all that was, it was nothing compared to the food. This had to be one of the best sub-$20 meals I've had. It being just my second trip to TAC, I got to try what are standby's for many folks, but new to me. Crispy on choy stole the show - just an amazing array of textures and flavors. I also loved the chicken wings, which in addition to being crisp and juicy, had complex, delicious spicing. Strange as it seemed, I really thought I tasted chocolate in the wing rub. If not, something else gave it a terrific, bitter flavor note. Isaan sausage was very good too, and quite different from the version I get all the time at Sticky Rice. TAC's is more about funky flavors that come from what I imagine are pig parts one doesn't get to (or want to) see very often. The intensity of Sticky Rice's version comes more from herbs and aromatics. I slightly prefer Sticky Rice's sausage, but was glad to have tasted this excellent one too.

Great company, great meal. Thanks to Sharon for organizing. The kuay tiaw reua seemed like the kind of soup that should cure all that ails you, so I'd suggest expediting your healing process by getting to TAC asap!

I eat both with regularity. I believe TAC's goes through a more significant fermentation process than Sticky Rice's. I do prefer one over the other, but I won't say which because they're both excellent in their own way and stating a preference is really meaningless ;)

Sorry I missed the meal. TAC is one of my favorite places and it sounds like a great time.

Boy do I miss my digital camera! I got there a little late but the food and company were excellent as always. Crispy on choy was a first for me but will be on regular rotation from now on. Garlic ribs were ok, but not in the same league as the pork neck.

Afterwards a group of us made our way over to Pick Me Up Cafe for pie. The last time I was here was 7am on a Sunday afer a long night and breakfast at the Diner Grill. It was pretty meh after TAC but at 2am after a night on the town it would surely hit the spot.
