I'm looking for recommendations for dinner near Second City, preferably walkable and open late. Entrees around $15-20 or less, no preference on the type of food, however we don't eat beef and I don't eat chicken. I'm perfectly fine going to places that offer beef, I'm just looking for other things on the menu. Thanks!

You could do Topo Gigio just down Wells. Solid (certainly not spectacular) Italian that should be in your price range. I'm not sure how late they serve.

Old Jerusalem is not a bad choice, especially since lots of Middle Eastern food contains neither beef nor chicken. And their website says they're open until 10.30pm (11.00 on Fri and Sat).

Oh and it looks like this question has been discussed before: here and here.

You can't get any closer than Adobo Grill. I always have a good meal there with a side of fun. Being a "mostly" vegetarian, I am pleased to say they have at least a couple better-than-average vegetable-based dishes. No chicken, no beef, no problem.

Cafe Sushi across the street from Village Cycle has a surprisingly large selection of Vegetarian Sushi. In addition, it is BYOB. For a Vegetarian, Cafe Sushi has always been the best place for me. Everytime I am in that area I either eat there or take something to go.

Perennial is really close. Trattoria Riccardo is less than a mile away. Kinda depends on what you're looking for (casual or not, ethnic or not, etc...) Might want to give us a bit more input...

right. My 21-year old daughter and her boy friend, both foodies but on a budget, are planning to attend a 2d City performance and are interested in eating well -- medium price range would be fine -- at a place that's within walking distance.
    thanks

You can get out of Old Town Social without spending too much, and it's just a short walk west of Wells on North.

We eat often at Mizu - a small and very good sushi place around the corner from 2nd City. They have a great selection of Yakitori, make good cocktails if you're not doing sake flights, and lovely service. Prices are sensible and I've had good dinners there for around $60 for 2 (and some much higher when folks were more serious about alcohol!)
