Many of us here are familiar with the extraordinary
Culinaria series put out by the German publisher Könemann. Indeed, it was the subject of
this thread, most of which contained high praise.
Browsing the cookbook section at Border's yesterday disclosed another series called "Mediterranean Cuisine" by the same publisher. The books are much smaller in terms of number of pages but with even glossier stock and more illustrations. And they're only $14.95. The volumes appear to cover most of the important cuisines in the Mediterranean, including (at least) France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Islands of the Mediterranean--and of great interest to me--Tunisia and Morocco.
A quick visit to Amazon seemed to suggest that the books were out of print. Eventually, I found the books, but they weren't the first to come up by a long shot. And the discount was less than I found at ecookbooks.com (an extraordinary site for those of you unfamiliar with it). They showed them all in stock and are selling for them $10.16 each. Does anyone have experience/familiarity with this series? I'm inclined to put much faith in Könemann and though the books aren't encyclopedic tomes like the
Culinaria series, they appear nevertheless quite intriguing. Still, it would be nice to know from someone who's used them if the books are any good. Thanks!
