I've been to the Jersey shore many times, but I'm by no means an expert on the food there.
That being said, Boardwalk Bob's on NW HWY in Cary is great and they have a large selection of gelato, icees and my new favorite dessert, the Funnel Cake Sundae. I had mine with vanilla ice cream, powdered sugar and chocolate syrup. Much better than our original idea for tonight which was Dairy Queen-and I like Dairy Queen. One guy while I was there was obviously a pro at this place because he got the funnel cake sundae with butter pecan, carmel syrup and I think he said something about fluffernutter? I'll be going back for more unique options.

Sounds great. I'm intrigued by the 24 flavors of Italian ice.

When we're out that way, we usually stop at Julie Ann's in Crystal Lake for frozen custard, but we'll have to check out Boardwalk Bob's next time.

Yes, Unfortunately Julian's is a thing of the past. I think they are all closed, except maybe McHenry. Gotta make room for a Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin Robbins! :x

When I need a funnel cake sundae fix I go to the Sugar Shack. They only open during the summer and they are cheap. I go for the Edy's ice cream instead of the soft serve stuff.
