Sabatino's is two blocks straight north from the Grayland stop.

For those who can stomach the tedious, intrusive owner and insultingly undrinkable wine (in tandem with BYO expressly prohibited), Burt's Place is less than a block from the Morton Grove stop.

There are a couple of decent spots very near the Northbrook stop (both on the north side of Shermer Road northeast of the station): The Landmark Inn, a faux-pub sports bar that can put out decent pub fare when not too busy; and an outpost of Kamehachi.

There is (or used to be, anyway) a complete dive (The Irish Wolfhound, or some such name) right off the Grayland stop, adjacent to the parking lot. I heard that, many years ago, it was the scene for an IRA wiring tap bust which had some unfortunate results. It's the type of place that's open at 7 am, and I'm sure it's cash only and the beer and shots are cheap. Just an FYI for those who may not want to walk.

Yes, although I believe they still impose restrictions on dates like NYE and July 4th fireworks and such.
