Post #1 - August 28th, 2008, 9:24 amHey! I'm taking a friend out to dinner tonight as a thank you for doing me some huge favors, and I'm stumped on restaurants!
Trying to stick to the North Side....Lakeview-Lincoln Square. Mid-level price range...
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Always excellent, mid-priced, wonderfully prepared dishes. Try the chicken.
Reasonably priced wine list. Great patio if the weather is nice.
Always attentive, informative service.

Post #3 - August 28th, 2008, 9:42 amI agree with DMChicago. Bistro Campagne is a winner, my favorite bistro in the city. The pork chop is one of the best I've ever had. And, I agree about the patio - - it's a lovely garden oasis.
Another restaurant in that price range, but just south in Lincoln Park, is Riccardo Trattoria:

Great Italian, in my opinion. The menu is more interesting than your typical Chicago Italian spot. I think that would also be a nice place to say thanks.
