took the gf there for the first time. she quickly proclaims: best Korean restaurant in Chicago. well.... the BBQ was, still, just mediocre, but the cordial wait staff, the decor, the late hrs, the proximity of the noraebang and the dozen+ panchan takes it over the top:
the special combo #1 (thinly sliced beef, marinated beef strips) and #2 pork "bacon" and marinated pork? are both on New Years Special for $29.99 ++. This includes 1 bottle of soju or 3 bottles of bear, tang jang (sp?) jigae, potato pancake, a bowl of eggs steamed in dolsot, and a new 'onions in wasabi' add-on for your meats and the panchan.
All in all, I'm still stuffed as of noon today. It may be enough to feed a family of 3 including 1 children. Killer bargain IMO.
